Travelling during the peak holiday season can be the most stressful and daunting thing you will do all year. Here are some Globehunter tried-and-tested ways on travelling stress-free during the holidays.
FOR THE BEST DEALS, BUY YOUR TICKETS ON A SUNDAY
Trends suggest that fare on Sunday can be cheaper as compared than a ticket bought on a Monday. If you need to buy during the week, Tuesday will be your cheapest bet.
PLAN TO FLY OUT ON THE ACTUAL HOLIDAY
It may not be ideal spending Christmas or New Year in the plane, but at least you’ll avoid the mad dash, the crowds and the expensive flights.
Downloading Apps such as SeatGuru and the Airlines’ App can be a lifesaver. SeatGuru not only shows you the best seats on your plane but it can also give you great information you could use in your trip: weather, departure information, rental car information, etc. Downloading your airplane’s app can provide you with updates with regards to your flight itinerary and more importantly, a mobile boarding pass!
AVOID THE MAD DASH: PLAN YOUR STOPS AND LAYOVERS WISELY
Make sure you have enough time between layovers and stops: plan to have a minimum of three hours at least – even more if you have a big group with you. Trying to beat the crowds through security as well as finding your connecting flight would be a doddle if you have plenty of time until you catch your flight.
DON’T WAIT TOO LATE TO BOOK
The more you wait, the more unlikely will you find the best and cheapest air fare!
