Follow in the footsteps of 17th century English settlers by making the journey from London to Boston and discover one of America’s oldest and most historic cities.

Walking through the streets of Boston you’ll see old brownstone buildings in the shadow of glistening skyscrapers, a perfect reflection of this city which blends a rich history with forward thinking modernism.

On the one hand, you’ve got the historic sites such as the Freedom Trail and Faneuil Hall, landmarks which were crucial in the forming of the US, and on the other, you have more modern sights such as Fenway Park stadium, where you might be lucky enough to catch a Boston Red Sox game.

As such a historic city, Boston is also home to a number of museums, such as the Museum of Fine Arts, which contains more than 450,000 works of art, the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum, Museum of Science and New England Aquarium.

Due to the number of immigrants it has welcomed over the years, Boston is also a real melting pot of cultures, with strong Irish and Italian communities in the North End, and great Chinese and Vietnamese food in Chinatown.

It certainly has a much different feel to other US cities such as New York and Los Angeles, but it’s still a modern and vibrant place to visit

Boston is also only a four-hour drive away from New York, so it’s an ideal starting point for a road trip, and the city itself is compact and easy to navigate.

The weather in Boston is a little more extreme than in London, with warmer summers and colder winters, with an average temperature of 24°C in July and -2°C in January.
