Destination Spotlight: New York City

NEW YORK is an addictive, magical city that has so much to see and do. You will instantly be mesmerised by the glitz and glamour of the city that never sleeps. It’s the largest city in the U.S. which means you need at least a couple of days to see all the magnificent sites. New York has mouth-watering food, exciting nightlife and perhaps the best shopping in the World. Lose yourself in Central Park, go on a shopping spree in Manhattan or go to ‘the top of the rock’ and take in spectacular views of the Empire State Building.

Every season is so different in New York - spring is beautiful, summer is hot and an ideal time to be in Central Park, autumn brings the vibrant fall foliage and winter brings a snowy winter wonderland. The best time to go to New York really depends on which season you would prefer. Lots of people visit just before or after Christmas as the city lights up with decorations, but just be aware the city gets extremely cold in the winter with snow very likely (below zero) so make sure you wrap up warm. In the summer the temperatures can get up to highs of 29-31°C. Spring and autumn are ideal times to visit, as the temperatures tend to be a little more comfortable.
