Another must-visit museum is The Auckland War Memorial Museum, here you can learn about the history of New Zealand and discover the country’s military roots. Art lovers will appreciate what Auckland Art Gallery has to offer; here you can see a big collection of local and international art.

If it’s nightlife you are after then Auckland won’t disappoint. There are plenty of spots throughout the city to enjoy a few drinks. Make sure you check out the British bars including the Shakespeare Tavern and Civic Tavern.

If you are in Auckland on a Saturday make sure you go to La Cigale French Market, here you can tuck into homemade food and fresh local delicacies. If there is an All Blacks rugby game on at Eden Park Stadium while you are in Auckland be sure to get tickets, the atmosphere is electric. It’s also New Zealand’s largest stadium.
