Whether you’re travelling with young children or just love the magic of Disney, then Orlando is certainly the place for you.

This being said, it also has so much more to offer other than just theme parks and kid-friendly attractions, with something for everyone.

From busy malls and quirky boutiques to great golf courses to museums and zoos, you’ll never be bored in Orlando.

Of course, the theme parks are the main attraction, whether it be the big names such as Walt Disney World Resort or Universal Orlando, or the smaller ones such as SeaWorld, Discovery Cove and Legoland.

There also loads of museums and galleries to visit, such as the Winter Park History Museum, the Museum of American Art, and the World of Chocolate Museum for those with a sweet tooth.

For those who love the great outdoors, you can take an airboat ride through the creeks outside of Orlando and keep your eyes peeled for local gators, or perhaps take a hot air balloon ride over the orange groves or kayak with the local manatees.

In terms of weather, Orlando is hot and humid, with very little difference between summer and winter, and the humidity can lead to heavy summer storms.

The average flight time from London to Orlando is just over nine hours, with plenty of airlines offering regular direct flights.

The majority of these airlines, such as Virgin Atlantic, Thomson and British Airways fly to Orlando International Airport although some services from Gatwick do fly to Sanford International which is slightly further away.

Orlando International is around six miles south-east of Orlando city centre, while Sanford is about 20 miles to the northeast, although both have good transport links to downtown Orlando as well as the Walt Disney World Resort area in Lake Buena Vista.

Remember that while you won’t need a visa to visit Orlando for up to 90 days, you will need to fill out an ESTA form online to qualify for the Visa Waiver Programme.
