Mumbai is India’s largest city, and it is densely populated and buzzing with activity. It is the heart of the Bollywood film industry, and once you see the bright lights and vibrant colours of the city for yourself you’ll understand why!

The city is home to some of Asia’s biggest slums, as well as the controversial Antilia building, which is the world’s most expensive private residence.

To the south of the city you’ll find the most touristy areas, with upscale hotels and a slightly less hectic vibe. This is a great area to stay if you feel you’ll want to relax after a long flight and settle into the city in your own time.

It has its fair share of landmarks for visitors wishing to do a spot of sightseeing, including the famous Gateway of India monument on the waterfront, the stunning golden Global Vipassana Pagoda meditation hall, and impressive rock-cut Kanheri Caves.

Don’t miss a trip out to the UNESCO World Heritage Site Elephanta Caves. This collection of cave temples are dedicated to Shiva, the Hindu god. You’ll find them on Elephanta Island, about 10km to the East of Mumbai in the Mumbai Harbour.

Mumbai has some of the best shopping in all of India, and Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Mandai, commonly still referred to by it’s previous name Crawford Market is one of the most famous markets in Mumbai. You can buy everything from fruit and vegetables to cosmetics, and gifts to take back home.

Why fly business class?

Flights from the UK to India involve many hours of flying, so the last thing you want is to be cramped and uncomfortable in economy class. Treat yourself to an upgrade to business class, and make the most of the amenities so you can arrive in Mumbai feeling refreshed and ready to start your holiday.

You’ll have plenty of room to stretch out, with seats that lie completely flat so that you can get some much-needed rest while you fly, and you’ll also have more privacy and personal space.

The food offered in business class is also a step above that in the economy, so if you’re a foodie you may want to consider the upgrade just for that reason alone!

Popular routes

We offer direct flights to Mumbai from Manchester and London, with flight times typically taking between 8 and 9 hours.
