Manila: What to See

You won’t be short of sights to see and experiences to enjoy in Manila. Some of the city’s most impressive sights include the San Augustin Church, a UNESCO World Heritage site, which you will find in the magical walled city of Intramuros. In this old city you will find colonial architecture, wide streets and ancient buildings. The Manila Cathedral is also worth a visit, here you can gain an insight into the religious history of the capital of the Philippines. Another big tourist attraction is Fort Santiago, a stunning citadel with a museum inside.

Chinatown is the place to go if you want to find unique shops where you can buy local goods and Chinese restaurants with delicious food. Head to Ongpin Street and watch the world go by in a teahouse. At some point you will probably want some time out from the busy city, so make your way to Rizal Park which is a popular open space and park where the locals go to relax.

Manila is famous for its pretty sunsets and sunrises, and one of the best places to enjoy them is Manila Bay. If you are travelling with kids you might want to visit Manila Ocean Park, a marine theme park and education centre which is ideal for families.
