Atlanta: Unmissable Events

There’s plenty of festivals and events in Atlanta to enjoy during the summer, but Christmas time is another good season for events. The chances are that whenever you visit Atlanta there will be some sort of event taking places somewhere around the city.

In January there’s the Martin Luther King march and rally, a huge event in the Atlanta calendar celebrating human rights and the legacy of such an iconic American figure. Atlanta Film Festival is held towards the end of March, it’s one of only two-dozen Academy Award qualifying film festivals in America.

In April there’s Atlanta’s biggest street festival which is a fantastic way to get a feel for the culture all around the city. This takes places during the Inman Park Festival.

Music lovers will want to be in Atlanta in May, when the Jazz Festival makes the city come alive. It’s one of the biggest free jazz festivals in North America. Celebrate Caribbean culture in May at Atlanta Caribbean Festival where you can watch the parade and dance demonstrations.

Foodies will not want to miss Atlanta Food and Wine festival in May where you can sample endless local delicacies.

Kids will love Atlanta’s Children’s Christmas Parade in December where they can see Santa Claus and watch all the amazing floats go by.

A great summer event to attend is Atlanta Summer Beer Fest where you can try around 150 different beers and watch live music. If you have a bit of a sweet tooth then consider going to Atlanta in July when the Ice Cream Festival takes place.
