New York really comes alive at dusk. The bars, theatres and nightclubs of New York cater to everyone. Enjoy a delightful evening watching a show on Broadway or party all night at one of the cities infamous nightclubs. If you're desperate to see a Broadway show but your budget is tight, most theatres do a 'lottery' at 1pm on the day of the show if you go to the theatre it's on at - you can get front row for circa $30 if you win.

There are also numerous classy bars where you can enjoy a sophisticated cocktail or go celebrity spotting. Go for a drink at the Gansevoort Meatpacking Hotel or The Standard (‘top of the standard’), both have rooftop bars. Another good place to go for a few drinks is in West Village (Greenwich village) for some cool restaurants and bars. Catch a sports game at Madison Square Gardens which is a world famous arena to really get into the American spirit.

New York is certainly not short of museums to visit. There are several on Museum Mile including the iconic Guggenheim, and the Metropolitan Museums of Art. Another great museum to visit is the MOMA.

There is no place on earth better for a shopaholic than Manhattan. It’s full of the world’s most impressive department stores such as Macy's and Bloomingdale's as well as plenty of designer stores dotted along Madison Avenue. Channel Carrie Bradshaw as you take to the streets of New York and stock up on a brand new wardrobe. Perhaps the best time to go shopping is in winter when snow lines the streets and impressive festive window displays instantly lift your spirits.
