Atlanta: What To See


You will be spoilt for choice when it comes to deciding what to do in Atlanta. The city has so many big tourist attractions to experience. Its home to an attraction based around one of the world’s biggest brands, Coca-Cola. Tourists flock to the ‘World of Coca-Cola’ where you can learn about the history of the mega brand and enjoy various rides and entertainment. There’s a 4D theatre, a pop culture gallery and kids can meet the Coca-Cola Polar Bear. Atlanta is also home to CNN’s headquarters, visitors can take a tour through the building and get a taste of what it’s like to be behind the scenes of a newsroom.

Another huge attraction is the Georgia Aquarium, the world’s largest aquarium where you can see whale sharks and bottlenose dolphins. Animal lovers will enjoy Atlanta because there’s also the Atlanta Zoo with a wide variety of different animals to admire.

It’s definitely worth going to see some sort of sports game during your visit to understand the sheer enormity of American sports events. If sport is not your thing then perhaps shopping would be more appealing, the city is jam packed full of mega malls with all the shops you could wish for. If you prefer the great outdoors and fancy a spot of adventure then head to Stone Mountain Park, here you can go hiking, fishing or if you are feeling brave try the adrenaline fuelled summit sky ride. There are plenty of nature walking trails to explore if you want a more active break.

To see the more picturesque parts of the city make your way to Piedmont Park or Atlanta Botanical Gardens where you can enjoy a moment of calm away from the city. Families with kids should definitely consider visiting Six Flags Over Georgia Theme Park which covers 290 acres and is located just south of Atlanta.
